Professional Medical International delivers the Orthopaedic Diplomas in partnership with The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. PMI was founded by Professor Tom Cosker, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Oxford, and Mr Sherief Elsayed, Consultant Spinal Surgeon in Dubai, who have been formally working together in postgraduate medical education since 2006.
PMI's founders have taught over 20,000 doctors across six continents. Today, the Orthopaedic Diplomas are run by PMI: faculty coordination, content delivery, accreditation pathways, and the technology that runs each cohort. JBJS provides the academic anchor as the leading academic journal in orthopaedics.
Each programme is taught live, online, by consultants who operate on these patients every week. None are lecture libraries. None are weekend courses. They are structured online diplomas.
Faculty are active clinicians. Content is written by the surgeons who do the work. Programmes are designed around how doctors actually learn: weekly, sustained, case-based and examination-aligned.
PMI is independently governed and incorporated in England and Wales.
