Overview
What the diploma covers.
A structured online programme across the complete spectrum of knee surgery. Led by consultants who operate on these patients weekly, with live cases, imaging reviews and structured assessment.
Modules
The diploma runs as 23 weekly sessions in three modules, one per term.

- 01Foundations, the Paediatric Knee and Trauma (7 sessions)
Anatomy of the knee and surgical approaches; radiology of the knee; elective and traumatic paediatric knee conditions; adult knee trauma, bony and ligamentous; the young adult knee, including osteotomy.
- 02Arthroplasty and Joint Preservation (8 sessions)
History of total knee arthroplasty; biomechanics, implant design and templating; unicompartmental knee arthroplasty; alignment philosophies (mechanical, kinematic and functional); chondral and osteochondral defects; complex primary knee replacement; the patellofemoral joint; tumours around the knee.
- 03Revision, Complications and Outcomes (8 sessions)
Revision knee arthroplasty; soft tissue coverage; periprosthetic joint infection; inflammatory arthropathy and severe bone loss; periprosthetic fractures; chondral injuries and meniscal tears; outcome scores and the joint registry; rehabilitation after knee arthroplasty.
